Day 1: Entebbe
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda, and after completing all formalities, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Ndali Kasenda Crater Lakes
After breakfast, you will either fly or drive to Kibale National Park. If travelling by road, you will pass through scenic tea plantations and make a stop in Fort Portal along the way.
You will arrive at your accommodation in the afternoon.
If time permits, you may explore the nearby crater lakes or visit local communities to learn more about their way of life, culture, and traditions. Alternatively, you can spend the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing at the lodge.
Day 3: Northern Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, you will set out for chimpanzee tracking, enjoying an unforgettable experience in the forest. Kibale National Park, covering approximately 795 km², protects one of the most beautiful and diverse stretches of tropical rainforest in Uganda. It is home to 13 species of primates, including chimpanzees, and reaches elevations of up to 1,590 metres above sea level.
After lunch, you will continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park, enjoying a game drive en route. Named after Her Majesty the Queen of England, this is Uganda’s most popular and scenic game reserve. The park stretches from the crater-dotted foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains in the north, along the shores of Lake Edward, to the remote Ishasha River in the south. It encompasses a remarkable variety of habitats, ranging from open savannah and wetlands to lush lowland forest.
Day 4: Northern Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, you will embark on an early morning game drive. The park is home to over 100 mammal species, including lions, hippos, buffaloes, leopards, spotted hyenas, elephants, and the elusive giant forest hog. Primate species found here include chimpanzees, black-and-white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, black-faced red colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and olive baboons. After the drive, you will return to the lodge for some relaxation.
In the afternoon, you will enjoy a scheduled boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. Queen Elizabeth National Park boasts one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any game park, with landscapes ranging from open savannah and rainforest to dense papyrus swamps, crater lakes, and the vast waters of Lake Edward.
Later, you will return to your lodge for an overnight stay.
Day 5: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
In the morning, you will depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Along the way, you will pass through the Ishasha Sector, where you may have the opportunity to spot the famous tree-climbing lions during a game drive. After lunch, you will continue your journey to the home of the mountain gorillas.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, one of Uganda’s most renowned forest reserves, is best known for gorilla trekking. It is also home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, chimpanzees, several monkey species, small antelopes, and over 23 bird species endemic to the Albertine Rift.
After settling into your accommodation, you will visit the Ride for a Woman project in the Buhoma sector. This inspiring community initiative supports widows and orphans by equipping them with skills such as craft-making and sewing, enabling them to earn a sustainable income and support their families.
Day 6: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
This morning, you will rise early for your gorilla trekking experience, accompanied by a knowledgeable primate expert. Trekking to see mountain gorillas is considered one of the most extraordinary wildlife experiences in the world.
The trek can take anywhere between 2 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family, but the experience is truly rewarding. You will be guided by an experienced ranger who will share fascinating insights about the forest’s flora and fauna, as well as the behavior and lifestyle of these remarkable primates.
Day 7: End of Itinerary
After breakfast, you will drive to Kihihi Airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Entebbe, enjoying stunning aerial views of southwestern Uganda’s rolling hills, lush vegetation, and local farmlands along the way.
Upon arrival in Entebbe, you will connect with your onward international flight home.
